Three decades spent making a busy city feel further away than it is. Every room opens directly onto lawn and jacaranda, five minutes from every major route into Johannesburg.
It began in 1995 as a bed and breakfast with a handful of rooms, in a Rivonia that looked nothing like today's. The trees are taller now, the estate has grown to forty-five rooms and a conference centre, and the four-star grading has been re-awarded more than once.
It is not a hotel, and has never tried to be. What hasn't changed is who meets you at the door.
